The Cellular Water Principle Theory
Healthy, well-hydrated cells are the building blocks of every system in the body, from our skin to brains. Since cellular water, the water held within cells, is where the chemistry of life itself occurs, it should come as no surprise that hydration is essential to looking and feeling our best. theory in scientifically controlled research studies, Dr. Murad established that most common dermatological and health problems relate to cellular hydration at their most fundamental level.

Murad’s Principles of Good Skin Care
1. Nourish Your Skin
“Skin is beautiful when it’s healthy at the cellular level, so we create powerful hydrating ingredients that support the skin’s barrier function to protect cells from environmental damage and dehydration, while encouraging healthy cell turnover.” –Dr. Murad
2. Eat Your Water
- Eating water-rich fruits and vegetables, nutrients are better absorbed into your body for skin health.
- “Drinking too much water can sometimes cause vitamins and minerals to be flushed out.” –Dr. Murad
3. Exercise
Exercise promotes circulation. Your skin is the body’s largest organ, by increasing blood flow, it helps carry oxygen to the cells and helps carry away waste such as harmful free radicals.

MICROBIOME OF THE SKIN
Bacteria on the skin has been perceived as something we need to remove; this narrative is beginning to change in scientific circles.
Maintenance of the skin barrier is clearly critical to prevent pathogenic infection, with traditional skin microbiology focussing on prevention and treatment of infection by well-known pathobionts for this very reason.
Pertinent studies have identified key roles for skin microbiota in maintaining homeostasis. These include providing nutrients (vitamin and amino acid synthesis, inhibiting pathogenic growth, priming our immune system to differentiate between commensals and pathogens, and regulating epidermal differentiation. Unique ecosystem consisting of millions of bacteria, fungi and viruses which make up the skin microbiota(International Journal of Molecular Science).
