Are Botox and Fillers Options?

As I write my thoughts regarding Botox and Fillers, I would like my readers to know that if someone has chosen these services, I do not criticize them for their choice.
However, if you are contemplating these services and ask my opinion if Botox and Fillers are options?
I will say with emphasis – NO!
Why? you may ask inquisitively.
Here is why –

Botox can weaken facial muscles, potentially creating a ‘frozen’ or unnatural look that persists even after a lift. The result of overdoing Botox and neglecting the subtle nuances of facial movement and expression end up in the look – “Alien Face.”

Fillers on the other hand can create “Ducky Lips,” which is an unnatural protruded appearance caused by overfilling the lips, improper injection technique, or filler migration.

The reality of Botox and Fillers is that they create an “illusion” of youthfulness and a “false sense” of confidence and self-esteem which can and often does create a distorted self-image. This distorted self-image is an inaccurate perception of one’s physical appearance that carries negative overtones. This misperception differs significantly with one’s reality, causing a person to criticize their appearance, which could possibly create an obsession with misperceived flaws thereby they go hunting for that magic remedy which many claim is Botox and/or Fillers.

Beware of the subtleties of deception, they play on our self-perceived inadequacies. Don’t listen to those who don’t have your emotional and mental well-being in mind and will use words to capture your imagination just so they can sell a product. Do your research.

It’s important to look at the onslaught in advertising where the claim of starting Botox in a person’s 20’s will stave off wrinkles; this is an out and out lie! However hard you try, you can’t fully reverse or stop aging. There is no facial treatment that has permanent anti-aging possibilities. Bearing these facts in mind regarding Botox and Fillers is why my desire is to encourage women and men not to fall into temptation to alter their appearance thinking it will keep aging a bay. As I said before, aging is not going to stop, no matter what you do.So how does one age with their best foot forward?

Aging well calls for consistency in good skin care, exercise, and nutrition which results in a bright and resilient complexion. It also calls us to the reality of aging which takes strength of mind and character so that we are not enchanted with shallow and empty words of promise that in the long run can’t deliver.
